Why do leaves change color? Leaves contain chlorphyll which gives the leaves their green appearance. In the fall the trees draw the chlorphyll back into the roots of the trees. This will provide the trees with their "food" to survive the cold winter months. Fall is my favorite time of the year, what's your favorite season?
